We fear change and we want to avoid it at any cost. But change is the only possible way to grow. There is no other way we can discover our true capabilities if we don’t put ourselves in challenging situations. And getting out of our comfort zones involves putting ourselves in situations we have never been in, it involves a change. I don’t think we should fear change more than we should fear stagnation, apathy and staying stuck in an unfavorable situation. We do this out of habit and familiarity; we fear the unfamiliar, the unknown.

I am personally going through difficult, transitional times in my life and I feel afraid and excited at the same time.

Here is my perspective on how to cope with change:

Step 1 – Accept the change. There is no need to deny what is acutally happening. – you are going through a change in your life.

Step 2 – Prepare in advance. If you’re moving to a new country you should research about the cost of living there, the jobs available etc. If you are very well prepared in advance you will experience less anxiety.

Step 3 – Have a positive attitude about it. It always helps because you will be more proactive about it and you will be less stressed.

I hope that whatever change you are going through in your life, it will be a positive experience for you and you will learn and grow from it.

  1. I think the second step is actually the first. If you are prepared in advance you will easily accept the change. And in the end a positive attitude helps you not even feel it.
In other terms, I’m really glad you’re starting this project. Good luck in the future.
